This ring, like so much of my work, is about juxtaposition. The focal is a stunning, very organic-feeling black & white dendritic agate, orbited by an Italian, mid-century yellow-hued acrylic cabochon. There's so much life in the moss agate: the opaque white with black inclusions drops off into a captivating pool of deep, soft gray. It's fascinating to look at; the layers of contrast in the piece move me, especially as the overall design is quite restrained. I can't seem to get past calling this double stone-set statement ring "Yolk," when to be fair, the acrylic cabochon has too much of a chartreuse undertone for that really to be true. So what shall we call it? Awesome?
